Hello! My name is Jinyu Hu. I was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, China where giant pandasfrom. My husband and I live in Louisville, we have one daughter going to NYC for college. Igraduated from Sichuan University with my Bachelor’s in English Language Arts &Literature in 2005. I’m an IB Chinese teacher at Sacred Heart Model school in Louisville. Iteach Chinese PYP & MYP programs for Kindergarten through 8th grade, this is my 8thyear teaching at SHS. Meanwhile, I’ve been working and teaching at Kentuckiana ChineseSchool since 2016. In 2017, I was selected to participate STARTALK-CHELER ChineseLeadership Program at the University of Toledo. In 2023, I was the lead instructor forSTARTALK Chinese Program hosted by Asian Institute Crane House in Louisville, KY. Also,I was named Most Outstanding Elementary School Teacher of the Year 2023 by KentuckyAssociation of Chinese Language Teacher. Currently, I’m enrolled in Master Program ofEducation in Advanced IB Teaching at the Elementary and Middle School at UoPeople. It ismy great honor to teach your kids, learn and grow with them together in our community. My name is Kevin Yu. I graduated from Southwest University with a major in Architectural Decoration Engineering. I earned my master’s degree from Chongqing University, specializing in Business Administration. I have taught at the Business School of Chongqing Yitong College, and I am currently teaching Chinese and Mathematics at M.H.G. Preparatory Academy. I enjoy reading and learning, and I love cooking. I also enjoy sports and have maintained a habit of running 10 kilometers for many years. I like playing table tennis, badminton, and volleyball. Being a teacher at school is such an interesting and rewarding experience! To teach students well, one must have love and care; to teach students well, one must guide them according to their abilities; to teach students well, a teacher must continue learning themselves. In short, to teach students well, there are methods to follow, but no fixed methods—the key lies in finding the right approach.

Hello everyone, I am Yinghao Dong, Heritage Chinese Program lead and 1st Grade Chinese teacher. Since 2018, I have been teaching Heritage Chinese at the Kentuckiana Chinese School in Louisville. With nearly 15 years of experience teaching Chinese to heritage language learners and over 10 years of experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I am passionate about language education. As a professional Chinese dance performer and teacher, I strive to integrate Chinese culture into my lessons. I immigrated to the U.S. through the EB-1A Outstanding Ability Visa program, and I am committed to spreading and preserving traditional Chinese culture. My goal in teaching is to help children love Chinese and Chinese culture. I look forward to working together to support our children’s growth and educational journey!

我叫朱佳，我毕业于西南政法大学，在国内从事安全生产法律法规的编写工作20多年。5年前移居美国，我现在在一所幼儿园做全职老师。由于对教师这个工作的热爱，我来到了中文学校，很荣幸成为了一名中文老师。我主要教授成人中文课程，我的学生虽然来自各行各行，但他们都抱着对中国文化的热爱之情来到这里学习。从他们身上我也感受到了我对文化传承的一份责任。业余时间我喜欢读书、锻炼、旅游。我对多元的文化一直充满着好奇。我喜欢和学生们在一起互相学习的时光，他们传递给我地道的美国文化，我也让他们了解我眼里的中国。我愿架起一座文化之桥，让汉语学习成为美妙的旅程。
My name is Zhu Jia. I graduated from Southwest University of Political Science and Law and spent over 20 years in China working on the drafting of work safety laws and regulations. Five years ago, I moved to the United States and now work full-time as a kindergarten teacher. Driven by my passion for teaching, I joined a Chinese language school and am honored to serve as a Chinese instructor. I primarily teach adult Chinese classes, and though my students come from diverse professional backgrounds, they all share a deep love for Chinese culture. Through them, I’ve come to feel a sense of responsibility in preserving and passing on cultural heritage. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and traveling. I’ve always been curious about diverse cultures. I cherish the time spent learning with my students—they share authentic American culture with me, while I help them understand China through my perspective. I hope to build a cultural bridge, making Chinese language learning a wonderful journey for everyone.
黄显老师 Xian Huang
我叫黄显，83 年毕业于复旦大学上海医学院。中学时担任语文课代表，曾参加福建省语文和数学学科竞赛。出于对汉语言文学的热爱，大学期间自学了王力先生的《古代汉语》四卷本，86 年又参加中国当代文学函授大学学习三年。我在医院和大学担任教学工作数十年，虽然我的高等学校教师资格证上的任教学科为临床医学，但我秉承活到老学到老的理念，喜欢学习不同学科的知识。我曾到美国南加州大学、巴黎高等商学院、法国科隆大学等多个国家的著名大学学习交流，其中在日本长崎大学学习一年，在清华大学学习五个月，2003 年至2006 年在美国路易维尔大学从事博士后研究。2000 年起我担任药理学硕士生导师，07 年被评为福建医科大学优秀教师。2020 年获得国际汉语教师证书。2022和2023 年我担任副主编出版了两部专著。我兴趣爱好广泛，业余时间喜欢打桥牌、下国际象棋等各种益智游戏，也喜欢打乒乓球和羽毛球、庭院种菜等。2023 年我参加北美桥牌联盟春季大赛，在四场双人赛中三次获得第一名，一次获得第二名。期待通过汉语教学，把我今生积累的汉语知识和写作技巧毫无保留地传授给喜爱中华文化的可爱孩子们。
My name is Xian Huang, and I graduated from the Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University in 1983. I served as the Chinese class representative throughout both junior high and senior high school, and I also participated in provincial competitions in Chinese and mathematics in Fujian. Driven by a deep passion for Chinese language and literature, I self-studied Professor Wang Li’s four-volume Ancient Chinese during my university years. In 1986, I furthered my studies through a three-year program at the Chinese Contemporary Literature Correspondence University. Over the course of several decades, I have taught in both hospital and university settings. Although my Higher Education Teacher Qualification Certificate specifies Clinical Medicine as my teaching subject, I have always embraced the philosophy of “lifelong learning” and actively pursued knowledge across a variety of disciplines. I have participated in academic exchanges at prestigious universities worldwide, including the University of Southern California (USA), HEC Paris (France), and the University of Cologne (Germany). Notably, I studied at Nagasaki University (Japan) for one year, at Tsinghua University for five months, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Louisville (USA) from 2003 to 2006. Since 2000, I have served as a master’s supervisor in pharmacology, and in 2007 I was honored as an Outstanding Teacher at Fujian Medical University. I obtained the International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate in 2020. In 2022 and 2023, I served as deputy editor-in-chief for two published monographs. I have diverse hobbies. In my leisure time, I enjoy playing mind-stimulating games such as contract bridge and chess, as well as sports like table tennis and badminton, along with vegetable gardening. In 2023, I competed in the North American Bridge Championships (Spring NABC), winning first place in three out of four pairs events and second place in one. I look forward to using Chinese language teaching as a way to share—wholeheartedly and without reservation—the knowledge of Chinese and the writing skills I have cultivated over my lifetime with the children who cherish Chinese culture.
徐济民老师 Jimin Xu
徐济民，曾在中国某高校中文系从事中国现当代文学教学15年，先后在美国公立中小学教授中文6-7年，目前在一所公立中学担任中文教师。
Xu Jimin, previously taught Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature for 15 years in the Chinese Department of a university in China. He has since taught Chinese in public elementary and secondary schools in the United States for 6 to 7 years and is currently serving as a Chinese teacher at a public middle school.

Hello everyone, I'm Yuling Lu.I taught at a College for 25 years in China and hold a Chinese University Teaching Certificate. After moving to the U.S, I've been teaching Chinese for 12 years. I currently teach MLP Chinese 2nd and 4th grade. In my classroom, I emphasize integrating textbook content with traditional Chinese culture and hands-on activities, allowing students to experience the beauty of the language and culture through active participation. I also enjoy using interactive games such as BINGO, KAHOOT, and WORDWALL to spark students’ interest and deepen their understanding. These approaches have proven to be effective and are well-received by both students and parents. I look forward to exploring the wonders of the Chinese language with all of you and sharing the richness of Chinese culture.

My name is Lili Ke, I have nearly 10 years of teaching experience and hold teaching certifications for K-12 and G-3. I specialize in individualized instruction and employ diverse teaching techniques. I also have experience teaching after-school programs in American schools. My teaching philosophy revolves around the principles of student-centeredness, inspiring lifelong learning, differentiated instruction, and using practice as a bridge to connect knowledge with real-world applications. My interests are diverse, including traveling, singing, dancing, reading, gardening, Chinese painting, cycling, sports, and anything else I enjoy doing to spend time with my family.
